– What makes Alabama special?
Alabama is the place my friends and family lives and where I was born. The saying from the Wizard of Oz “There is no place like home’ is very true. Though I do love living in Los Angeles, meeting my friends at Knots Berry Farms, Magic Mountain, and Universal Studios. I love theme parks and spending time with friends. Here in Alabama, I have the friends I grew up with we are still very close and it is nice just hanging out and being me. Having a home in Alabama and Los Angeles is perfect.
– What is about college football that you love?
My favorite college football team is Alabama Crimson Tide “Roll Tide”. In the south, college football is almost a religion. When we are in Los Angeles it seems it is more about the NFL. But in the south, college football means the year starts in September. My Mom and Dad are huge football fans too and when I was five I got the best gift, an Alabama Crimson Tide signed football from Coach Saban and the whole team. It was one of the years they won the National Championship in 2009 against Texas Longhorns. If you ever go to a college football game in the south you will love it, the tailgating, going to quad before the game it is very electrifying being at a game.
– Tell me about your role as Sheldon in Chicken Girls.
Sheldon was a character that I made up in my head that would be annoying because he is always spying on the other students. However, he is also likable in his own way because he brought the two main characters together in the end. Sheldon is what I call the principal’s pet. Since he is not real popular with the other students, he is always hanging around the new principal that is more concerned about academics than the school dances and after-school activities. This is one of my favorite roles. I loved meeting the cast of the Chicken Girls and the Principal (Melanie Paxson known for fairy Godmother in Disney Descendants) was the best to work with. We are still friends today.
–Why do you want an acting career?
Being on set is the best in the world. The environment, meeting new people and being a different character for each role I book. It is somewhat surreal in a way if you really think about it. As an actor, it is up to us to bring a character to life the writer and director have envisioned. When we as actors do this everyone that watches this film/tv series connects to this character if you as an actor brings it. Just think about it if it was not for James McAvoy played the perfect role in Split in the role as Dennis, Patricia, Hedwig, the Beast, Kevin, Crumb, Barry, Orwell or Jade. He was unbelievable to do what he did on the big screen is my dream one day. My friend Izzie Coffey played the role of young Casey so I watched that movie to support Izzie. When I watched that movie, I got goose bumps. That is what I want to bring to others. When someone watches me act, I do such a good job that they are moved. I also want to bring laughter to others doing comedy. Other actors I think could only do the character they brought would be Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow, Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool, and Hugh Jackman as the Wolverine. I read an article on Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and the report asked him whom do you think could be the next Indian Jones and Harrison Ford replied no one I am the only Dr. Jones. I love that.
–Why are acting classes important?
I think Acting classes are very important because they help you to work with others, learn, and continue to sharpen your skills. I love to work with a private acting coach. I currently work with Matisha Baldwin and when we are working on an audition, we can work off each other finding the perfect way to do the audition. Ms. Matisha shows me ways I had not thought about to do the scene.
–Tell me about pursuing a black belt in Karate.
I started Karate back when I was around six and took it for a few years but then my school and acting kind of took over and had to postpone my karate. I actually started it back up in late 2019 but then COIVD happened and I have not been able to start it back yet.
